IT’S ABOUT THE VIBE OF THE THING, NOT THE THING ITSELF

Im sitting in a Starbucks right now; I drove here after being disturbed during journaling more times than one at home. I need my alone time when I’m journaling - I need you to not look at or talk to me, and I definitely don’t need to have you constantly asking me what you can eat for breakfast.  Sigh. Kids. I thought they were supposed to be independent at this age. You mean I still have to make them breakfast? And more importantly: Why aren’t they sleeping in on a weekend?  Anyway. I came to Starbucks, and I came to this one in particular because i’s the VIP of all Starbucks. There is only one Starbucks Reserve in my area, and even though it’s a bit out of the way, and there are other places closer to me, I always come here because of the vibe. When you go to Starbucks, you order what you want, and then you either go and sit down, or you get your order to go. Here, it’s as though you’re visiting someone’s home. Someone that treats you like family, but that leaves you alone when you are clearly in the zone.  They are always coming around with free snacks (which I have to politely decline due to my desire to not consume animals, but I still appreciate the thought). They are always smiling - seriously ALWAYS smiling - everyone. They all yell “welcome!” and “good morning!” when people walk in and “thank you!” and “have a great day!” when people walk out.  I feel like I’m visiting a bunch of my friends every time...

How to get anything you want..

I have this friend. Let’s call her Betty. Betty really wants to grow her coaching business. She currently makes around $6,000 per month and has been stuck around that mark for over 8 months. Whenever we get together and talk about our businesses, she mentions that she really wants to get to $30K months, as that is enough to pay all of her bills, travel, put money in savings, and buy furniture for her new house. She has mentioned working with a particular coach at least a dozen times. She is always commenting on how this coach always says what she needs to hear and her free content is “so valuable”. I encouraged her to do whatever she had to do to invest in working with this coach. And she always said “you’re right, I really should, but _______” (insert excuse of your choice). I don’t make enough money yet.  I have to pay my credit card bill first. I don’t know how I would make that money back. It feels too soon, I should wait until January.  I don’t know if I’m ready for a coach. Every time, there was some kind of excuse as to why she couldn’t hire this coach that she obviously loved and wanted to work with. I eventually got to the point where I stopped mentioning it because I didn’t think she’d ever pull the trigger and take a chance on herself and hire this coach. But it kept coming up. Every time we’d get together and work on our businesses, she’d say “I really feel like I need to hire someone to...

One subtle shift that will change your money results in your biz!

The right things, meaning, the things that move you forward, get you what you want, and make you feel alive. Wanna feel happy? Wanna feel confident? Wanna feel abundant? Wanna feel energized? Yeah? Then, what you need to do, of course, is take actions that get you to those feelings. You know you can just CHOOSE to feel a certain way, right? You can choose to feel happy.  You can choose to feel confident. You can choose to feel abundant. You can choose to feel energized. And by FEELING, you start BEING. Your feelings lead to your ultimate reality. Let me say that again so it [hopefully] sinks in: YOUR FEELINGS LEAD TO YOUR ULTIMATE REALITY. If you want to be a confident person, CHOOSE to first FEEL confident. Every day, over and over. If you want to be wealthy, just do yourself a favor and CHOOSE to first FEEL wealthy. It will feel weird at first. It will feel like you’re just lying to yourself… because, uh.. YOU ARE. Keep doing it. Keep choosing to feel a certain way. Feel the feelings. Feel the feelings. Feel the feelings. Over and over, again and again, day after day. And the next thing you know, you actually believe it. You BELIEVE that you are confident. Wealthy. Energized. Abundant. Happy. And from that place – That place of true BELIEF – You’re able to make it REAL. You actually ARE happy.  You actually ARE abundant.  You actually ARE energized.  You actually ARE confident. The whole “fake it til’ you make it” thing? Yeah. That. It feels bizarre. But it works. I’ve...

An EXTREMELY valuable lesson I’ve learned…

I have something to share with you today that I think you will appreciate and resonate with. This is an EXTREMELY valuable lesson I’ve learned over 14+ years of building online businesses: >> Never sway from your boundaries. << There are no exceptions.  There are no “this time only” occurances.  There are no rules of yours to be broken. Do it once, and people are going to expect you to do it all the time. #nothanks When you have a belief and a desire, you HOLD FIRM, no matter what or who tries to shake you. Because trust me, you WILL be tested. Me? I don’t do discovery calls. Ever. For anyone. You either know, like and trust me as your mentor, or you don’t. I don’t give refunds to anyone who asks. Why? Because I don’t allow my clients to give up on themselves and back out of what they felt was aligned at the time. I don’t do calls during certain hours when I’m with my family or doing my morning routine. If you can’t deal with that, we probably shouldn’t work together (on the phone, at least). —> I have boundaries. And I stick to them. Even if someone says “I’m gonna sign up for your program after we talk on the phone, it’s only for a few minutes!” or something along those lines, the answer is no – “No, sorry, I don’t do discovery calls. But I’m happy to chat with you via email or FB voice chat about what you need.” Don’t let fear try to scare you with “what if” scenarios. (OMG, but what...

The REAL reason you’re never able to break through to the next level..

You wanna know the REAL reason you’re never able to break through to the next level? It’s not because you don’t want to. It’s not because you’re not worthy of it. It’s not because you don’t know how. It’s not because you’re not ready. Bullshit bullshit bullshit. The reason – The REAL reason why you can’t ever, no matter how hard you try, move past this level you’re STUCK at and have been stuck at for ages, is because of this simple fact: You won’t step the fuck up and CLAIM IT. WANTING to be at the next level is not enough to GET there, fully. You can’t wish for it. You can’t cross your fingers and HOPE it one day happens. ‘Cause it won’t. Not without you, first, stepping up to the plate, ready to go to bat for your dreams, and consistently swinging – And with the constant UPLEVEL actions needed to move THROUGH where you are now and into the next phase of being. Where most people stop is not with the “doing the work” part… no, the work is EASY, we always DO the damn work, and quite enjoy it, thank you very much! – But that’s about where it ends – And so you’re caught in that never-ending circle of work, work, work, work, work. - which is okay in it’s own right (we do love the work, afterall!), but what happens is: You STAY WHERE YOU ARE. Sure, you may gradually increase your email list size, or even your income a little bit, but for the most part, you’re just… stuck. You make...
HOW TO GET EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT

HOW TO GET EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT

About 6 or so years ago, we bought a house.  Everyone told us not to buy it. It was way over our budget, and we couldn’t afford it, they said (because apparently they knew what our finances looked like - ha!). We stressed about it for days, but deep down we KNEW that this was meant to be our home. The money shit, though.. it was tough. It was hard to get over the cost. We truly DIDN’T have the money. Not without sacrificing something in order to be able to pay for it.  We looked at the numbers. STARED at the number for a long time, trying to make something work, knowing we WOULD make something work.. because this was OUR house. We just knew it.  Something made us say yes. It was a pull, a tug, a nudge from the universe to just do it, and everything would work itself out.  It was a big leap - something a lot of people told us we were crazy to do. And we had NO idea how we were gonna pay for this house. But we trusted our gut and did what we knew was right (even if it looked all kinds of wrong on paper).  After putting in our bid, we got a call from our agent who told us that the owners of the home rejected our offer. They were so offended by the amount of money we offered (which actually wasn’t far off from the asking price), they didn’t even come back to us with a counter offer.  I cried.  And then I got mad.  Asked the...
