BECOME ADDICTED TO DOING THE WORK THAT MATTERS

BECOME ADDICTED TO DOING THE WORK THAT MATTERS

I love doing the “work”. The practical stuff.

I love writing, and putting out an offer, and posting a bunch of IG stories back to back.

I love responding to emails and messages.

I love digging into my business and re-organizing what needs it.

I love tracking my income and expenses and doing all the money work I need to do.

I love the planning of new content, new offers, new ideas, new everything (love planning! but honestly only follow through with maybe 1% of what I plan LOL).

I love sitting in front of my laptop and engaging with people.

I love whipping up a new opt-in.

I love creating content for my paid programs.

I LOVE DOING THE WORK.

This has become a problem, as of late, though. Because the truth is….

I think I’ve allowed myself to become addicted to the “busy work”.

And as such, my business has not moved and grown as quickly as I’ve wanted it, too.

(I’ve been focused a lot on my new tea business, so I know that has been a part of it, but that’s still not an excuse!)

I KNOW that the busy work is the least important work.

I KNOW that the work that actually allows you to grow and expand and travel to that NEXT LEVEL of wealth and abundance and FREEDOM?

Is the INNER WORK.

Is the reading.
Is the learning.
Is the implementing what is learned.
Is the journaling.
Is the meditating.
Is the sitting around and doing FUCK ALL except having a conversation with the universe/god/spirit/whatever you wanna call it.

I KNOW THIS.

Yet, I’ve been pushing it to the back of my mind over the past few months.

My brain has tricked me into believing that the busy work must come first (LIAR!).

And it wasn’t the morning until I forced myself to sit in the meditation room for 10 minutes and NOT FUCKING MOVE until 10 minutes was done, that I realized… wow…

I’ve done it again.

I’ve slipped back into this place of do, do, do instead of spending time in the place of BE, BE, BE, which is where the magic ACTUALLY happens.

So I ditched my to-do list.

I lit a bunch of candles.

I saged the house (and almost set of the fire alarm, but whatevs).

I drank a bunch of water.

I read some inspiring words (and learned a lot about myself and my self-sabbotage habits).

I made a giant mug of Metta Tea Co. matcha (duh).

And then I journaled (I’m actually in the middle of journaling.. but as I was journaling, I felt the urge to write this, so here we are… once I’m done, I’ll go back to the journal).

I predict today will be a day of more of the same. Journal, read, learn, implement, tune in, align with my soul, ask for guidance, do the work (the INNER WORK FIRST).

Not saying the “busy work” isn’t important. It is. But it comes SECOND to doing the work that will actually move you forward, which is the inner work.

The journaling, reading, learning, tuning it… all of it.

First and foremost.

And then, and ONLY then, should you move on to the so-called “busy work”.

I learned years ago, when I hired my very first coach for help with my marketing, just how important mindset work was.

She pushed it on me for 6 months. I resisted for 6 months. Started to get annoyed with her, actually.

I just wanted the marketing help. And my marketing was GOOD. I’m fucking AWESOME at marketing and selling. And I made a lot of money during those 6 months, selling my work… especially seeing as this was in an industry that was brand new to me and where NO ONE knew who I was!

But eventually, my income kinda plateaued. No matter what I did or how much HARDER I worked, my income always hovered around the same amount each month.

Finally, I caved and decided to try the mindset work that my coach had been trying to get me to take seriously for months.

And IT WORKED. I did what was suggested, I spent more time on the inner work than the practical/busy work, and I MADE MORE MONEY.

And it felt EASY.

And it felt FUN.

And it also felt kinda like… “well DUH, of course it works!”.

As if I had known all along.

Just like you. You know right now that the do, do, do that you’ve been spending your time on has been WIPING YOU THE FUCK OUT.

You’re exhausted.

You’re frustrated.

And you’ve seen that it’s not actually helping all that much in hitting your goals.

So what now?

Now you stop. You stop putting all of your time and energy on the busy work. You dedicate 90% of your day to the inner work.

Fill the other 10% with whatever practical actions you want, but the other 90% of time? That’s for you to go within, to work on your mindset, to do the work that ACTUALLY matters.

And I’ll be right there with ya. Because I know this shit works.

xx,
Cassie
