Top 3 Tips to Position Yourself as an Expert (& Make More Moolah)

A lot of people get into business knowing what they want to do and how they want to make money, but they have no clue how to position themselves as an expert that actually gets paid for their services.

Because let’s face it, if you’re not considered an expert, it’s gonna be damn hard to get anyone to hand you their hard-earned cash.

The good news? It’s not that hard to position yourself as an expert. Here are 3 ways you can become known:

#1 Be REALLY good at one thing.

As a business owner, I’m sure you’re really good at loads of different things - and that’s great. But if you want to be known as an expert, you need to be really good at just ONE thing, not EVERY thing.

For example, I’m a business consultant/coach, and I can help you with a ton of different aspects of growing a successful business. But where my specialties really lie are with marketing and visibility.

Perhaps you’re a health coach that’s really good at meal prep. Or a website designer that’s fantastic at getting designs done quickly. Find your one thing and be really good at that.

#2 Keep your branding seamless.

All of your social media profiles and your website should have consistent branding throughout.

That means the same profile photo, the same logos, the same colors, the same image styles, the same language (copy) - everything should be the same across all profiles and sites.

Having seamless branding is just one more way to show people you are an expert at what you do.

#3 Become the voice of your industry.

Make sure you are in the know when it comes to things happening (or not happening) in your industry. You can do this by researching relevent news stories and sharing them with your followers.

Try do do this once or twice each month. The more you do this, the more you will be recognized as an expert in your niche.

Keep up to date and keep other people informed. That’s all you have to do.

Showcasing yourself as an expert is not something you should wait to do. Start off telling people you are an expert at _______.
